We’re stoked that you’re coming out to surf and camp with us! Whether this is your first or one of many trips with us, below you’ll find all the information you need to have a safe, successful, and memorable trip.

What is Surftoberfest?
Surftoberfest started out as a small camping and occasional surfing trip at the end of the summer 9 years ago with a small group of people and has grown over the years to include almost 50 guests at our annual end of summer party where you camp on the beach (in the sand with tents) and surf from sunup to sundown and eat, drink, and build new memories together.
Where are we camping?
This year’s sites are clustered within the Oceanside Walk-in Campground section at Assateague’s National Seashore Campground (link will take you to the Ranger Station on Google Maps). The specific campsite numbers will be released once your spot is confirmed and paid for. (See map below). These campsites are located directly on the sand so you will need to walk in about 800 feet from the road into the listed sites.
Where do we park?
Please note we have ONLY 7 parking spots out front of the walk-in section (where you see 42-65), later arrivals will need to unload in front of the walk-up and then park their cars in the overflow parking at North Beach Parking Lot (close to the ranger station/fee-booth). It is about a 10 minute walk or skate from the lot to the camp sites. All vehicles must pay an entrance fee at the gate – cash and card are accepted (fee schedule here).

What to bring on this trip?
-Tent (buy one that comes with a rain fly – just in case!) http://amzn.com/B019N9W7WC [link is to a 4 person tent, but there are smaller and larger options)
-Sleeping bag (something that will keep you warm, it can get chilly at night, check the temperature ratings, easier to unzip than to warm up!)
-Sleeping pad or air-mattress + pump to put under your sleeping bag (optional but recommended)
-Lanterns, Flashlights, Glowsticks (optional but recommended)
-Cooler freeze water instead of using icepacks so that you have fresh water once the ice melts!
-Reusable cup – the mamut / contigo cups are great for hot and cold and help us reduce waste
–Surfboards and wetsuits – (3/2 or 4/3 are usually suitable for morning to evening surfs)
What about eating?
We will supply the wood for the fires that run at a couple of the campsites for cooking and kicking back around the fire at night. You will need to bring / prep your own food and there is a Walmart about 20 minutes before you arrive at campground.
What facilities are available?
There are showers and bathrooms next to each other near the small parking lot – a 4 min walk from the tents. Please note the showers and water are not heated. There is potable water listed there as seasonal.
I’m stoked, how do I get a spot?
Each spot for the trip is a flat 50 per person. It is transferable but not refundable. Payment is sent via zelle alongside a completed waiver which will be found below when registration is opened.
