I finally made it back in the water in Bahia, Brazil

In January 2023, a year and a half after my first time surfing, I finally made it back in the water in Bahia, Brazil just south of Itacaré.
One early morning, we strapped the boards to the car and drove over to the 4 beaches trail. After a 20 minute hike down from the car park, the coastal rainforest parted and we arrived at one of the beach alcoves.
We ended the session with freshly squeezed sugarcane juice before hiking back to the car.
On the way back we stopped at an overlook to scope out the other surf spot we frequented.
No wetsuits needed here – the water temperature hovered around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
